Biomet Hip Joint Replacement

Hip replacement surgery involves removing the arthritic ball of the upper femur and the damaged cartilage from the hip socket. The ball is replaced by a ball that is fixed to a stem inserted into the femur. The socket is replaced with a cup, which is permanently fixed to the socket.
The function of the implants are designed to create a smoothly functioning joint that has eliminated the painful bone-on-bone contact which existed pre-surgery.
Dr. Manning utilizes Biomet Implants due to their superior engineering and fuction. Bioment offers several types of cement-free hip stems with over 10 years of published clinical history.

These published and peer reviewed reports show that Biomet's hips have performed well... Fewer failures occur, less thigh pain results, and less implant-related bone loss occurs than with many other systems.
Many of the
non-Biomet hip stems that are currently available have no published long-term clinical information, due to the fact that the implants have not been used clinically for very long.
